Tourist Numbers In Serbia Surge In March 2026

The country recorded a sharp increase in arrivals compared to the same period last year.

In Serbia, the number of tourists in March 2026 rose by 10.1% compared to the same month in 2025, according to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia. The growth reflects a continued recovery and expansion of the tourism sector.

Both domestic and foreign tourist arrivals contributed to the increase, with urban centres and spa destinations among the most visited. Overnight stays also recorded growth, indicating longer visits and stronger overall demand.

The expanding network and growing number of flights operated by Air Serbia are improving connectivity, making the country more accessible to a wider range of travelers.

The data points to a positive trend for Serbia’s tourism industry, which continues to strengthen its position as an increasingly attractive destination in the region. Part of this growth may also be linked to preparations for Expo 2027, which has intensified international promotion and investment in tourism infrastructure. New hotels, upgraded facilities and broader urban development projects are contributing to the country’s appeal, while Serbia’s strategic geographic position is increasingly being recognized as an advantage in attracting regional and international visitors.
