Serbia’s Republic Property Directorate Jovan Vorkapić Has Been Dismissed

The Serbian government has dismissed Jovan Vorkapić from his position as Director of the Republic Property Directorate

The decision was adopted by the government and published in the Official Gazette, making it effective immediately. No detailed explanation for Vorkapić’s dismissal has been provided in the published decision. The Republic Property Directorate plays a key role in managing, recording and disposing of state-owned assets, including government buildings, land and other public property. The institution is also involved in property registration, asset management and transactions related to state-owned real estate.

The government has not yet announced who will permanently succeed Vorkapić or whether an acting director will be appointed until a new head of the Directorate is selected.

Leadership changes in public institutions are typically formalised through government decisions published in the Official Gazette, with appointments and dismissals taking effect upon publication.

The Republic Property Directorate remains one of the central institutions responsible for overseeing the management and protection of Serbia’s state assets, making the appointment of its leadership significant for the implementation of public property policy and future investment projects involving state-owned land and facilities.
