The announcement comes as Montenegro continues to focus on strengthening its connectivity and tourism infrastructure. Both airports play a key role in the country’s tourism sector, handling the majority of international visitors arriving by air and experiencing significant seasonal increases in passenger traffic.
Spajić said the works will be treated as a priority, with the aim of improving the capacity and overall functionality of the two airports.
The upgrades are expected to address existing infrastructure needs and provide better conditions for passengers and airlines.
The prime minister also announced the urgent preparation of a new master plan for the airports, which is intended to provide a longer-term framework for their development. The plan is expected to assess future capacity requirements and help guide investments as Montenegro seeks to expand air connectivity and accommodate growing demand.
