Biogradska Gora Reopens to Nature Enthusiasts

A rare opportunity to explore one of Europe’s last primeval forests is once again available, offering a pristine escape into Montenegro’s natural heritage

Nestled in the heart of Montenegro, Biogradska Gora, one of Europe’s last remaining primeval forests, has officially reopened to the public, offering a sanctuary of untouched landscapes for nature lovers and adventurers alike.

After a winter of preserving its delicate ecosystem, the national park now invites visitors to immerse themselves in its extraordinary biodiversity, serene lakes, and centuries-old trees.

Marinela Đuretić, Director of National Parks of Montenegro, highlighted the park’s dual mission of environmental preservation and promoting sustainable tourism.

She stated that their aim was to protect the unique natural heritage of Biogradska Gora while providing an unforgettable experience for those who respect and cherish nature.

Visitors are encouraged to follow designated trails and remain vigilant of potentially slippery terrain in the early spring months.

Boating activities will be available based on weather conditions, promising a tranquil exploration of the park’s breathtaking vistas.

This reopening marks the start of a new tourist season, with the focus squarely on responsible engagement with one of Montenegro’s most cherished natural treasures.
