Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimović held separate meetings with Papua New Guinea Foreign Minister Justin Tkatchenko and Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan as part of Montenegro’s diplomatic activities during the UN General Assembly.
During the meeting with Tkatchenko, the two ministers signed a Joint Declaration establishing diplomatic relations between Montenegro and Papua New Guinea. The agreement formally opens a new chapter in relations between the two countries and provides a framework for developing bilateral cooperation.
Ibrahimović and Balakrishnan, meanwhile, discussed opportunities to intensify political dialogue between Montenegro and Singapore and explored potential cooperation in different areas. The two sides also considered initiatives aimed at further strengthening and expanding bilateral relations.
The meetings form part of Montenegro’s broader diplomatic engagement at the UN General Assembly, where the country has been using high-level meetings to strengthen existing partnerships and establish new channels of cooperation with countries outside its traditional network of bilateral relations.
