On 9 December Tirana International Airport (TIA) marked a historic achievement by welcoming its 10 millionth passenger, a milestone that underscores Albania’s growing stature as a regional travel hub. This remarkable figure was reached ahead of schedule, signalling a year of exceptional growth for the airport and the country’s expanding tourism sector.
The 10 millionth passenger, Matin Van Der Meij from the Netherlands, arrived on a Transavia flight and was met with a celebratory ceremony attended by fellow passengers, crew members, and dignitaries. Piervittorio Farabbi, TIA’s operational director, praised the airport’s ongoing development, noting the dedication and hard work that made this achievement possible.
