Albania and Kosovo* Deepen Agricultural Cooperation

The two countries have signed agreements aimed at boosting innovation, trade and rural development through closer institutional cooperation.

Albania and Kosovo* have signed two cooperation agreements to strengthen collaboration in agriculture and rural development, reinforcing efforts to modernize the sector and expand opportunities for farmers and agri-food businesses.

The agreements were signed in Tirana during the visit of Kosovo*’s Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Armend Muja. Albanian Agriculture Minister Andis Salla said the accords build on commitments made during a bilateral meeting in Pristina earlier this year and reflect the strong partnership between the two neighboring countries.

The first agreement focuses on agricultural advisory services, technology transfer and innovation, with the aim of improving farmers’ access to expertise, digital tools and modern production methods. The second establishes a joint approach to promoting and marketing agri-food products, including coordinated promotional campaigns, participation in international trade fairs and closer cooperation between businesses from both countries.

The agreements are expected to enhance the competitiveness of Albanian and Kosovan agricultural products, support rural development and create new opportunities for participation in European Union-funded projects, laying the foundation for deeper long-term cooperation in the sector.
