In November 2024, Serbia’s average gross salary rose to 138,911 dinars, with the net salary hitting 100,738 dinars—a significant milestone, surpassing the 100,000 dinars threshold for the first time since May.
Despite this growth, stark regional and sectorial disparities persist. While Belgrade boasts a net average of 128,000 dinars, wealthier areas such as Stari Grad and Vračar see salaries above 170,000 dinars, highlighting a sharp contrast with regions like Jablanički and Pčinjski, where wages are among the lowest.
Tech professionals dominate, with salaries reaching an impressive 300,000 dinars. Meanwhile, employees in retail, agriculture, and the postal sector struggle with average wages around 80,000 dinars.
Private and public sectors are nearly on par, though entrepreneurs fare far worse, with an average monthly income of just 50,192 dinars.
The wage growth, while promising, underscores the widening gap between urban and rural, high-skill and low-skill workers.
