Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has emerged victorious in the country’s eleventh parliamentary elections, with his Socialist Party securing 83 out of 140 seats, according to official results from the Central Election Commission.
The remaining diaspora votes are not expected to alter the outcome.
This decisive result grants Rama a historic fourth mandate, reaffirming public confidence in his leadership and reform agenda.
The centre-right coalition led by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha won 50 seats, while four smaller parties also gained parliamentary representation.
In a press conference, Berisha rejected the results and announced nationwide protests for 16 May—coinciding with the upcoming European Political Community Summit.
Despite this, international observers described the election as generally free and fair, noting only minor procedural issues.
Rama is expected to reaffirm Albania’s Euro-Atlantic commitments in his address to the nation, as the country continues its path toward EU integration and regional stability.
