New Hotel and Business Hub Coming to Zagreb Airport

Zagreb's record-breaking passenger numbers signal the start of a major transformation, with a new hotel and commercial hub set to elevate the airport into an international travel destination

Zagreb Airport is embarking on an ambitious expansion, underpinned by a €40 million investment to build a state-of-the-art hotel within the airport complex.

With passenger traffic reaching a record-breaking 4.3 million in 2024, the move is designed to enhance passenger experience and position the airport in line with global trends.

The hotel, with 172 rooms, is the first step toward the creation of an Airport City concept that will later include conference centers, office spaces, and commercial zones.

Set to be operated under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, the project will grant the investor a 50-year concession with the possibility of a 49-year extension, after which ownership will revert to the airport.

The development aims to attract established international hotel brands, ensuring high service standards, while the surrounding commercial center will cater to both travelers and locals.

This strategic expansion promises to solidify Zagreb as a key hub in European air travel.
