The historic Poljud Stadium in Split is set to undergo a €20 million renovation, marking the first phase of an extensive project that will preserve its architectural legacy while upgrading its facilities for contemporary needs.
Designed by the renowned architect Boris Magaš, Poljud’s shell-like structure has become a symbol of Croatian sport and culture since its completion in 1979.

The ambitious project, which will span 31 months, includes crucial structural improvements such as corrosion protection for concrete and steel, along with a roof replacement and enhanced drainage systems.
The stadium will also see upgrades to its lighting and audio systems, bringing it up to international standards.
Accessibility will be a key focus, with significant changes aimed at improving the experience for visitors with reduced mobility.
While construction will limit visibility in some areas, the stadium will remain operational throughout the works.
