United Airlines Launches First Direct Transatlantic Route To Split

A milestone for Croatia’s tourism sector as the Dalmatian coast gains its first nonstop connection to the United States.

United Airlines has inaugurated its first-ever direct transatlantic service to Split, marking a significant step in strengthening Croatia’s global connectivity. The new seasonal route links Split with a major U.S. hub, offering travelers faster and more convenient access to one of the Adriatic’s most sought-after destinations.

The introduction of this route reflects growing demand for Croatia among long-haul travelers, particularly from North America, where interest in the country’s coastal heritage, gastronomy, and cultural landscape continues to rise.

By eliminating the need for connecting flights through European capitals, the service is expected to further boost tourist arrivals and extend the peak season.

Beyond tourism, the route underscores Croatia’s broader ambition to position itself as a well-connected Mediterranean destination. Improved air links not only enhance visitor flows but also support investment, business travel, and international visibility, key factors as the country continues to develop its infrastructure and global appeal.
