Montenegro Opens Doors to New Tourists

Visa-free travel for five nations and new international flight routes signal Montenegro’s commitment to a booming summer tourism season

Montenegro is gearing up for a thriving summer tourist season, with a series of strategic measures announced to bolster its appeal.

In a recent session of the Coordinating Body for Tourism, it was revealed that a temporary visa-free regime would be in place for citizens from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Uzbekistan, and those holding valid residence permits for the UAE from March to November.

This decision, made in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reflects Montenegro’s proactive approach to tourism.

Alongside visa facilitation, a suite of incentive measures has been introduced to enhance the country’s tourism offerings. These include support for rural tourism, digitalization, MICE tourism, and destination promotion.

The measures will be funded through a public call for applications.

Additionally, Montenegro’s air connectivity will expand this summer, with Vueling launching thrice-weekly flights from Barcelona to Tivat.

Gulf Air will also introduce new routes linking Bahrain and Athens, further increasing the country’s appeal to international visitors.

With these new steps, Montenegro is set to solidify its position as a sought-after Mediterranean destination this summer.
