Montenegro Marks Milestones in Ties With The United States

Prime Minister of Montenegro highlighted shared values of freedom and democracy as the United States celebrates 250 years since its Declaration of Independence.

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić has congratulated the United States on the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, describing the document as one of the defining political foundations of the modern world. In a message shared on social media, Spajić praised the ideals of liberty, equality and the pursuit of happiness that have shaped American democracy.

Drawing parallels between the histories of the two countries, Spajić said Montenegro understands the language of freedom not only as a political concept but as a lived historical experience. He noted that, throughout its history, Montenegro has viewed freedom as a constant commitment to preserving dignity and sovereignty.

The prime minister also highlighted several important anniversaries linking the two nations, including the 20th anniversary of Montenegro’s restored independence and 121 years of diplomatic relations with the United States. He said the milestones offer an opportunity to reaffirm the deep and enduring ties between the two countries.

Concluding his message with the words, “Long live Montenegro, God bless America,” Spajić reaffirmed Montenegro’s commitment to its partnership with the United States and the shared values that underpin bilateral relations.
