Parliament Reappoints Dr Zorica Kalezić as CBCG Vice Governor

Montenegro's Parliament has reappointed Dr Zorica Kalezić as Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG), following a nomination by Governor Dr Irena Radović

Dr Kalezić has been with the Central Bank since 2007 and has served as Vice Governor since December 2019. She brings extensive international experience, having worked with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund on projects involving Montenegro and other countries in the region. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Montenegro and later completed her master’s and doctoral studies at Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom.

During her previous term, she played a leading role in the modernisation of Montenegro’s payment system. As Chair of the National Payments Committee, she coordinated the country’s accession to the SEPA payment schemes and oversaw the implementation of the TIPS Clone project, creating a national instant payments infrastructure that connects all 11 banks operating in Montenegro. In Montenegro’s EU accession process, Dr Kalezić heads the negotiating working group for Chapter 17 – Economic and Monetary Union, while also contributing to work on Chapter 4 – Free Movement of Capital and Chapter 18 – Statistics.
