Volkswagen Leads Croatia’s Auto Market in January 2025

Volkswagen’s strong position underscores a continued consumer preference for gasoline and hybrid models in Croatia’s evolving automotive landscape

In January 2025, Volkswagen emerged as the leading brand in Croatia’s automotive sector, capturing a market share of 12.3% with 548 units sold.

This performance mirrored the stability of the overall market, with new car registrations remaining consistent at 4,461 compared to the same period in 2024.

Škoda followed closely, securing second place with 529 units, while Suzuki rounded out the top three with 344 vehicles sold.

The Volkswagen T-Cross was the top performer, with 263 units sold.

A notable trend was the continued dominance of gasoline and hybrid vehicles, which together accounted for 84% of all sales—44.7% for gasoline and 39.3% for hybrids.

Diesel vehicles represented 11% of the market, while electric cars remained a marginal choice, with only 1.8% of sales.
