UniCredit Bank Breaks New Ground with Mastercard Touch Card™ for the Visually Impaired

UniCredit Bank is breaking barriers, bringing financial independence to visually impaired citizens with the first-ever Mastercard Touch Card™ in Serbia

In a pioneering move, UniCredit Bank, in collaboration with Mastercard, has introduced the Mastercard Touch Card™, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering Serbia’s 12,000 visually impaired citizens.

UniCredit is the first bank in the country to offer this innovative card, designed with tactile side indentations to help those with impaired vision identify their card by touch.

The initiative promises to enhance financial independence, enabling visually impaired individuals to navigate both online and in-store payments independently.

This step is part of a wider effort by UniCredit Group to foster an inclusive society, aligning with its commitment to equal access to financial services.

Rastko Nicić, Director of Retail and SME Banking at UniCredit Bank Serbia, highlighted the bank’s commitment to creating a world of equal opportunities, with financial independence being a central goal.

He emphasized that the introduction of the Mastercard Touch Card™ reflects their dedication to fostering an inclusive society and ensuring everyone has access to the financial tools they need.

Notably, the new card is made from recycled PVC, in line with UniCredit Group’s sustainability principles, further endorsed with the Mastercard Sustainable Card Badge.
