Huchet said he looks forward to continuing and further deepening cooperation between France and Kosovo* across a range of areas, while strengthening the longstanding bonds of friendship between the two countries.
His appointment comes as France continues to play an active role in supporting stability, European integration and cooperation in the Western Balkans.
France recognized Kosovo*’s independence on 18 February 2008, one day after Kosovo* declared independence.
Since then, the two countries have maintained diplomatic relations and developed cooperation in areas including political dialogue, security, economic ties and European integration. France has also been involved in international efforts to support stability in Kosovo* and the wider Western Balkans, including through its participation in the NATO-led KFOR mission.
