The partnership is part of the Embassy’s yearlong Freedom 250 campaign, which celebrates American independence and the longstanding ties between the United States and Croatia.
U.S. Ambassador to Croatia Nicole McGraw said the initiative highlights the shared spirit of determination and competition between the two countries, while using sport as a way to strengthen their friendship.
FNC founder and CEO Dražen Forgač said the partnership reflects the organization’s international roots and its long-standing connections with the United States, including American Top Team Zagreb and American partners and investors. The September 12 fight card will feature athletes from the United States, Croatia and other countries, highlighting the international reach of mixed martial arts.
The collaboration also supports the U.S. Department of State’s broader efforts to use sports diplomacy and educational programs, including through mixed martial arts, to connect people and cultures.
