Exceptional Start for Sarajevo International Airport in 2025

Record-breaking growth signals a bright future for Bosnia's travel sector

Sarajevo’s International Airport has made an impressive start to the year, marking a significant milestone in January 2025.

With 116,283 passengers passing through, the airport experienced a 50% increase compared to the same month in 2024, alongside a 30% surge in flight operations, totaling 1,175.

The statement from Sarajevo International Airport expressed that the airport had an excellent start to the year and, with this strong beginning, they expect an even more successful year ahead.

The positive trend reflects broader tourism growth, bolstered by the Sarajevo Canton Tourism Organization’s record investment of 3.5 million BAM into air traffic.

In 2025, the airport will offer direct flights to 39 global destinations, with airlines connecting Sarajevo to major European hubs and new routes to the Middle East, including Kuwait, Dubai, and Riyadh.

This boost is a clear reflection of Sarajevo’s growing appeal, as more tourists flock to Bosnia, with a notable rise in the length of their stays.
