Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Montenegro

From Podgorica to Porto Montenegro, women in business are breaking barriers and redefining Montenegro's economic landscape

In a celebration of female entrepreneurship, Montenegro’s ŽIG Women’s Business ceremony at the Science and Technology Park highlighted the outstanding achievements of women in business across the nation.

Over 70 women-led enterprises, from Podgorica to Nikšić, Bijelo Polje to Kotor, were awarded the ŽIG certification, which symbolizes authenticity and excellence in women’s business ventures.

Notable figures such as Jelena Ćirković from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Rachel de Souza from the British Embassy in Montenegro championed the vital role of women in driving economic growth, underscoring their resilience in overcoming business challenges.

Among the honorees, Sophie Vučetić’s “Sophie’s Beauty Line” stood out as an exemplary brand, with its salons in Montenegro and beyond—such as in Kopaonik and soon in Porto Montenegro—bringing global recognition to the nation’s entrepreneurial spirit.

The ŽIG initiative, supported by the British Government and EBRD, serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative potential of women in business, fostering innovation and inclusivity throughout Montenegro’s economy.
