In 2024, the number of Bosnian workers placed in Germany was substantially lower, driven by rising costs, particularly in housing and inflation.
Meanwhile, Slovenia remains a top destination for Bosnian workers, with nearly 5,500 contracts signed in 2024, maintaining steady demand in sectors like construction and transportation.
With the focus shifting to managing the domestic labor surplus, authorities aim to ensure that migration remains regulated, though the allure of Western Europe wanes under economic strain.
This drop contrasts with the growing influx of foreign workers to Bosnia, with the majority arriving from Turkey, Nepal, and India.
