Montenegro’s Highest Salaries in 2024

Data on the highest earnings in Montenegro for 2024, provided by the Tax Administration to the portal Bankar, highlights that the top salaries are concentrated in wholesale trade, real estate, hospitality, and fuel trade sectors.

The highest recorded gross salary this year exceeded €187,000, with four out of the top ten earners being Montenegrin citizens, while the remaining six were foreign nationals, primarily engaged in real estate and hospitality.

The highest gross salary of €187,308.22 was earned by a Montenegrin citizen working in the wholesale trade sector. After taxes, this individual received nearly €140,000. The data suggests this figure likely includes a significant bonus, as it appears only once during the year.

Among the top ten earners, four individuals received salaries exceeding €100,000, with one foreign national in the real estate rental sector receiving a gross salary of €176,000, resulting in a net income of around €130,000.

The analysis shows that lucrative opportunities in Montenegro are concentrated in sectors such as real estate, finance, and hospitality.

The total tax calculated on the ten highest salaries for 2024 amounts to approximately €200,000, further underlining the economic impact of high earners in these fields.

While tax confidentiality limits access to specific details about these incomes, the data paints a clear picture of the industries driving substantial earnings in Montenegro.
