EIB Reaffirms Support For Montenegro’s European Path

Infrastructure, connectivity and economic development were at the center of talks in Montenegro.

PM Milojko Spajić and President Jakov Milatović both met with Nadia Calvino to discuss strategic infrastructure projects and Montenegro’s European integration process. The meetings focused on investments aimed at improving transport connectivity, railway modernization, road infrastructure, and overall economic competitiveness in Montenegro.

Calvino emphasized the strong commitment of the European Investment Bank to Montenegro’s EU enlargement path, highlighting that EIB-backed investments are intended to strengthen the country’s economy while improving everyday life for citizens.

Montenegrin officials stressed that European integration is closely tied to infrastructure modernization, better public services and higher living standards.

The talks also underlined the importance of regional connectivity and aligning Montenegro with European standards through long-term investment projects. Officials described the cooperation with the EIB as an important part of the country’s broader strategy to accelerate reforms and complete its European integration process.
