From Paper to Real Talks: France and Montenegro Strengthen EU Dialogue

Andrija Mandić hosted a French delegation in Podgorica for talks on Montenegro’s EU integration and stronger parliamentary cooperation.

The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić, has hosted a delegation from the Committee on European Affairs of the French National Assembly in Podgorica, in a meeting focused on Montenegro’s EU integration process and continued parliamentary cooperation with France.

Welcoming the French delegation, Mandić stressed that Montenegro greatly values the consistent support it receives from French parliamentary colleagues, particularly at what he described as the final and most important phase of the country’s European Union accession process. He underlined that such political dialogue is crucial for maintaining momentum on reforms and strengthening institutional cooperation.

The head of the French delegation, Pierre-Alexandre Anglade, highlighted that both in the French and European parliaments there is a strong recognition of the progress Montenegro is making, adding that Mandić is seen as playing an important role in leading the parliament during a decisive period for the country’s EU path.

Members of the French Committee on European Affairs also expressed satisfaction with Montenegro’s reform efforts and reiterated their readiness to continue supporting the country’s European ambitions. They concluded that they look forward to welcoming Mandić for a return visit to the French Parliament, as part of continued strengthening of bilateral parliamentary relations and EU integration dialogue.
