Mickoski Presents New Cabinet for North Macedonia

Hristijan Mickoski, leader of VMRO-DPMNE, has unveiled his proposed cabinet and government program, marking a crucial step towards forming North Macedonia's new coalition government

Hristijan Mickoski, leader of the VMRO-DPMNE party and the designated Prime Minister of North Macedonia, has presented his proposed cabinet and government program to the parliament. This move sets the stage for a new coalition government.

“Today, I submitted the program for the future government led by VMRO-DPMNE, along with the list of cabinet members and their biographies. I expect this to be put before the MPs this weekend, on 22-23 June,” Mickoski told reporters in the Assembly.

The vote on the new government is expected to take place this weekend, with a parliamentary session scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday and conclude by midnight on Sunday

The new government will consist of 20 ministries, up from the previous 16, and will include members from the VMRO-DPMNE coalition “Your Macedonia,” the Albanian coalition “Worth It,” and the political party “I Know – For Our Macedonia.”

Key proposed ministers include Panče Toškovski for Internal Affairs, Timčo Mucunski for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Gordana Kočoska Dimitrieska for Finance, and Aleksandar Nikolovski for Transport. The new cabinet aims to deliver quick results to meet the high expectations of citizens, who Mickoski said have felt their country was “held captive by a few rulers” over the past seven years.
