A North Macedonian Five-Year Job Market Forecast

Labour market trends point to growing demand in tech, healthcare and skilled trades as the economy evolves.

North Macedonia is expected to see shifting labour market needs over the next five years, with certain professions emerging as particularly востребovani due to digitalisation, demographic changes and economic restructuring. Analysts highlight that demand will increasingly favour roles requiring specialised skills and adaptability.

Among the most sought-after professions are those in the IT sector, including software developers, cybersecurity specialists and data analysts, reflecting the ongoing digital transformation of businesses.

Healthcare roles are also expected to remain in high demand, driven by an aging population and the need for more medical staff, alongside positions in education and social services.

At the same time, skilled trades such as construction workers, electricians and technicians are projected to stay crucial for infrastructure development and maintenance. The trends suggest that future workforce needs will require a balance between high-tech expertise and practical vocational skills, placing emphasis on education systems to adapt accordingly.
