Nina Angelovska Stankov Publishes First Book

In Nothing by Chance, the entrepreneur and former finance minister of North Macedonia offers a personal account of the journey behind her public success

One of North Macedonia’s most recognisable entrepreneurs and business leaders, Nina Angelovska Stankov, has published her first book, Nothing by Chance, offering readers a personal account of the experiences, decisions and challenges that shaped her journey from startup founder to finance minister.

Published by TRI Publishing Centre, the book carries the subtitle When Preparation Meets Challenges and marks the first time Angelovska Stankov has openly reflected on the story behind her public success.

In Nothing by Chance, she explores the path that led her from building a company from the ground up and helping pioneer e-commerce in North Macedonia to navigating leadership responsibilities at the highest levels of government. Alongside her professional achievements, the book also addresses personal dilemmas, motherhood, unexpected turning points and lessons learned away from the spotlight.

“I never thought I would write a book. Just as I never thought I would start a company, become a minister or achieve an exit. But none of it happened by chance,” Angelovska Stankov said when announcing the publication. “After many years of living at a relentless pace and constantly focusing on productivity, writing this book became my permission to pause, reflect and tell the story.”

The book presents what the author describes as an honest account of a journey that was neither carefully planned nor entirely accidental. It explores the importance of embracing uncertainty, accepting challenges and recognising opportunities when they arise.

Aimed at a broad audience, the publication speaks to entrepreneurs facing uncertainty, leaders balancing performance with people management, women navigating multiple responsibilities and readers seeking an inspiring personal story about ambition, resilience and growth.

Angelovska Stankov is best known as the co-founder of Grouper, one of North Macedonia’s most successful startup stories and a pioneer of the country’s digital economy. She later became North Macedonia’s first female finance minister and has received numerous international recognitions, including a place on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

The book was released in May and was initially made available through a pre-sale campaign that offered readers signed copies ahead of its official launch.
