Serbia’s Dual Education Model Expands with 400+ Employers

As Serbia's education system adapts to the skills gap, more than 400 employers have committed to providing real-world training opportunities for students in the 2025/2026 school year

Serbia’s dual education model, which combines classroom learning with hands-on experience, is gaining traction among employers, with over 400 companies now signed up to participate in the 2025/2026 school year.

This initiative aims to address the country’s growing skills shortage, with a particular focus on sectors like engineering, electrical technology, trade, and hospitality.

One in five companies participating this year is new to the program.

Employers have expressed the need for 3,500 students, offering training in roles such as mechanical technicians, CNC operators, and electricians.

While the dual education model has long been viewed as an effective way to bridge the skills gap, it’s also helping to shape the future of Serbia’s workforce, aligning educational outcomes with market demands.

The push for dual education continues with plans for further expansion and increased employer involvement in the coming months.
