Atlantic Grupa Pioneers Advanced Warehouse Automation in Europe

Atlantic Grupa has become the first company in Southeast Europe to implement advanced 2D shuttle warehouse automation technology

Atlantic Grupa has become the first company in Southeast Europe to implement advanced 2D shuttle warehouse automation technology for full pallets. The official opening of the expanded LDC Vukovina facility took place on May 24, attended by key colleagues from the strategic business and distribution sectors in Croatia, as well as project partners Kamgrad and Stamh.

The warehouse expansion project was initiated in response to continuous sales growth, aiming to maximize the capacity of the existing site in Velika Gorica to meet the increasing demand and storage needs for both Atlantic trade Zagreb and the production sites of Cedevita, for which Atlantic Grupa is a logistics partner. The project began in 2022 and was officially launched in April last year.

Faced with the dual challenges of increased storage requirements and a shortage of labor, the company introduced the 2D shuttle technology. This state-of-the-art system, a first in this region of Europe, allows for the storage of full pallets and complete integration with existing digital solutions, marking a significant advancement in Atlantic Grupa’s operations.

Speeches at the opening celebration were delivered by Slađana Bastašić, General Manager of SDP Croatia, and Nenad Dečur, Director of Logistics Operations. Special thanks were given to Nataša Gembarovski for her excellent management of this complex project, which is her final project before retirement. The core project team also included Marko Lazić, Director of Corporate Asset Management, and Nenad Dečur.

Gratitude was extended to all supporters of the project, including the Group’s Vice President for Distribution, Srećko Nakić, and the Project Board members: Slađana Bastašić, Darko Milanković, Dean Kosty, Krešimir Starčević, and Anja Kurobasa. The contributions of the project team were highlighted as essential to the project’s realization.

The team concluded by expressing their commitment to sharing the experiences gained from this project with colleagues involved in future initiatives to introduce advanced supply chain management technologies.
