Albania Closes EU Accession Negotiation Chapter on Enterprise and Industrial Policy

Albania has taken another step towards European Union membership after closing negotiations on Chapter 20, which covers enterprise and industrial policy

The announcement was made by Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Enlargement, who praised the country’s progress in advancing its EU accession process.

Kos said Albania was among the frontrunners driving progress on EU enlargement this year. She noted that the reforms linked to the chapter are expected to help Albanian businesses grow, strengthen the country’s industrial sector and create more jobs.

The development brings Albania closer to its ambition of completing accession negotiations in 2027. The country has been advancing reforms as part of its efforts to align national legislation and policies with EU standards.

Kos expressed confidence that further progress could follow in the coming months, signalling continued momentum in Albania’s EU integration process.
