Sveti Stefan Set to Reopen in 2026 After Settlement Deal

A long-running dispute ends, clearing the way for one of the Adriatic’s most iconic destinations to return to the global luxury map.

Following the conclusion of a settlement agreement between the Government of Montenegro and leaseholders, luxury hospitality operator Aman and Adriatic Properties have confirmed that Sveti Stefan will reopen for the 2026 summer season.

The agreement brings an end to a prolonged dispute that had kept the high-profile resort closed, marking a significant step toward restoring investor confidence in Montenegro’s tourism sector.

Aman stated that the exact reopening date will be announced shortly, highlighting “constructive negotiations” between Adriatic Properties and the Montenegrin government, led by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.

The company reaffirmed Sveti Stefan’s position as one of the most distinguished properties within its global portfolio, describing it as a destination of exceptional historical and cultural value.

Both Aman and Adriatic Properties emphasized their commitment to long-term collaboration with Montenegrin authorities, aiming to ensure the sustainable success of the resort. Adriatic Properties also confirmed that the settlement enables a full withdrawal from the arbitration process.

The reopening of Sveti Stefan is expected to send a strong signal to international investors and high-end travelers alike — that Montenegro’s most recognisable luxury asset is back in play.
