Novak Djokovic Mediates Effort to Revive Sveti Stefan

Novak Djokovic’s intervention in the dispute over Montenegro’s iconic Saint Stephen hotel raises hopes for a resolution to the four-year standstill

In a move that underscores his commitment to Montenegro’s long-term interests, Novak Djokovic has offered his assistance to resolve the ongoing closure of the once-glamorous Sveti Srefan city-hotel, which has remained shuttered since 2021.

Djokovic, the global ambassador for luxury brand Aman, is leveraging his influence to mediate a resolution between key parties embroiled in a protracted dispute.

Following discussions with Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, Djokovic expressed his intent to act in the national interest. Djokovic said he is neutral and focused on facilitating a solution that benefits all parties.

Despite years of stalled negotiations and a high-stakes legal battle over contractual breaches, Djokovic remains optimistic that a resolution is near.

The stalemate, centered around the lack of privacy and security for guests, has prevented the iconic resort from reopening. Djokovic’s involvement raises hopes for the revival of one of Montenegro’s most celebrated tourist destinations.
