Montenegro Joins European Cyber Security Organization

Montenegro's membership in the European Cyber Security Organization marks a pivotal step in bolstering its cyber resilience and international collaboration

Montenegro has become the latest member of the esteemed European Cyber Security Organization (ECSO), a significant milestone underscoring the nation’s commitment to strengthening its cyber defences.

This move reflects Montenegro’s determination to enhance digital security, resilience, and its role in shaping cybersecurity policy across Europe.

A delegation from the Ministry of Public Administration, led by Dušan Polović, Director General for Infrastructure, Information Security, and Digitalisation, recently visited Brussels to engage with ECSO representatives.

Discussions focused on improving cyber protection, implementing the NIS2 Directive, and exploring future cooperation opportunities.

This membership offers Montenegro an active role in crafting cybersecurity strategies at the European level, bolstering its capacity to safeguard citizens and institutions from rising cyber threats.

The Ministry continues to prioritise digital security development, with ongoing support from the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF).
