Ireland’s Growing Passion for Southern Croatia Shines at Dublin’s Holiday World Show

As Irish interest in southern Croatia surges, Dubrovnik and its surrounding regions make a splash at Dublin’s prestigious tourism event

In a compelling showcase of Croatia’s rising appeal, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County took center stage at the renowned Holiday World Show in Dublin this January.

Held from January 24-26, the event drew thousands eager to explore new holiday destinations.

Under a joint stand with the Split-Dalmatia County and the Croatian Tourist Board, the Dubrovnik-Neretva delegation offered a tantalizing glimpse of southern Croatia’s cultural treasures and stunning coastline.

The opening day, dedicated to tourism professionals, underscored the growing Irish appetite for Croatian vacations. Agencies like Globtour and Croatia Tours were on hand, offering tailored packages for the region.

Notably, the presence of Croatian Ambassador to Ireland, Davor Vidiš, further highlighted the strengthening ties between the two countries.

The statistics speak volumes: in 2024, nearly 52,000 Irish tourists visited Dubrovnik-Neretva, marking a notable 16% rise in arrivals. As Irish interest in Croatia’s southern shores continues to grow, this event provided an ideal platform to cultivate new relationships and further elevate the destination’s profile.
