Slovenia Steps Into EU Clean Hydrogen Initiative

Slovenia has taken a significant step towards advancing green energy solutions by joining the European Union's Clean Hydrogen Partnership, unlocking opportunities for innovation and collaboration in hydrogen technology

Slovenia has joined the European Union’s Clean Hydrogen Partnership, a move expected to strengthen its efforts in developing a robust hydrogen ecosystem. The initiative will provide the country with access to expertise, funding, and resources to advance hydrogen technology and infrastructure.

The Ministry of the Environment, Climate, and Energy highlighted that this collaboration offers a significant boost to Slovenia’s green energy ambitions and economic potential through cutting-edge hydrogen solutions.

With EUR 1 billion in EU funding allocated for 2021–2027 and matching private investments, the partnership supports innovation in hydrogen technology across Europe. Slovenia’s involvement also aligns with the North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley project, a joint effort with Croatia and Italy’s Friuli Venezia Giulia region, as part of the EU’s plan to double the number of hydrogen valleys by 2025 through an additional EUR 200 million investment.
