Record-Breaking Attendance at Sarajevo Film Festival 

The 30th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival has set new records, attracting more tourists than ever before

According to statistics, Sarajevo Canton experienced its highest levels of tourist arrivals and overnight stays during this year’s festival, surpassing all previous records.

Tourists flocked to Sarajevo from a wide range of countries, with the majority coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Germany, Austria, Italy, Sweden, and Turkey

Haris Fazlagić, President of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, revealed that nearly 40,000 arrivals and over 83,000 overnight stays were recorded during the festival. The number of tourist arrivals during the 2024 Sarajevo Film Festival increased by 16.5 percent compared to 2023, by 55.8 percent compared to 2022, and by an impressive 71.9 percent compared to 2019.

Similarly, the number of overnight stays saw significant growth, with an 8.5 percent increase over 2023, a 46 percent rise compared to 2022, and a 64.9 percent surge compared to 2019.

This year’s record-breaking attendance highlights the growing international appeal of the Sarajevo Film Festival, solidifying its status as a premier cultural event in the region.
