US Companies Invest Heavily in Croatia, Says Ambassador Nathalie Rayes

At a recent conference hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia (AmCham), US Ambassador to Croatia Nathalie Rayes highlighted the significant investments American companies are making in the country

Speaking at a business lunch held at Zagreb’s Sheraton Hotel, Rayes revealed that over 100 American companies are investing approximately $820 million in Croatia.

“These investments are more than financial transactions. They represent a shared commitment to growth, innovation, and shared prosperity,” Rayes stated. She underscored the strengthening bond between the United States and Croatia, noting that the bilateral relationship has never been stronger.

Rayes highlighted Croatia’s significant achievements, including its memberships in NATO, the European Union, the Eurozone, and the Schengen area, with upcoming entry into the OECD.

She pointed out that Croatia has also joined the American Visa Waiver Programme and the Global Entry Programme, facilitating easier travel between the two countries. Additionally, new treaties on mutual legal assistance and extradition are now operational, bolstering joint transatlantic security goals.

The ambassador also noted the surge in American tourism, with over 700,000 Americans visiting Croatia last year, marking a 33% increase compared to 2022. This tourism boom, coupled with cross-border investments and job creation, is part of a broader collaboration that includes significant advancements in sustainable energy. “Croatia and the USA are aligned on all major foreign policy and development projects and goals,” Rayes asserted, highlighting the depth and scope of the partnership.
