EU Invests Over €5 Million in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Agricultural Recovery

The European Union has invested over €5 million in Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of an agricultural recovery project that has preserved 1,463 jobs and created 142 new ones over the past three and a half years, according to the project implementers "EU for Agricultural Recovery".

The project has strengthened the existing infrastructure and capacities of local agri-food companies, paving the way for further innovation and sustainable development practices in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reported RTRS. Gianluca Vannini, Head of the Operations Section of the EU Delegation to BiH, stated that this project “symbolizes the European Union’s commitment to provide assistance when it is most needed”.

“This project, like the EU’s general support to the agricultural sector in BiH, helps producers become more resilient, adaptable to innovations, and environmentally conscious, increasing their competitiveness,” Vannini emphasized in Sarajevo.

The “EU for Agricultural Recovery” project was jointly implemented by UNDP and the Czech Development Agency.
