BiH and Italy Sign Historic Pact on Mutual Recognition of Driver’s Licences

Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Italy have inked a pivotal agreement for the mutual recognition and exchange of driver’s licences, enhancing cooperation between the two nations

In a landmark agreement that promises practical benefits for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Italy, the two nations have signed a pact for the mutual recognition and replacement of driver’s licences. Edin Forto, Minister of Communications and Transport for BiH, and Marco Di Ruzza, Italian Ambassador to BiH, formalised the agreement at a ceremony in Sarajevo.

Forto expressed profound gratitude to Di Ruzza and the Italian government for their collaboration, noting that this agreement was 16 years in the making. He also called on other European nations to follow Italy’s lead in fostering similar cooperative efforts.

Ambassador Di Ruzza underscored the practical implications of the agreement, enabling the seamless exchange of driver’s licences between the two countries. He also framed it as a significant symbol of friendship, describing it as a “new bridge” that strengthens the connection between the nations and their citizens.
