BiH and Egypt Discuss Regional Developments and Cooperation

Foreign ministers underline dialogue, stability, and strengthening bilateral ties

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, held talks with Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations across a range of sectors. The meeting also included an exchange of views on the latest regional developments, underscoring the importance of continued political consultation.

On this occasion, they signed two agreements : the Protocol for Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute for Diplomatic Studies of the MFA of Egypt and the MFA of Bosnia and Herzegovina-providing a solid framework for closer institutional cooperation.

The talks form part of Egypt’s broader diplomatic outreach and intensive consultations with international and regional partners. Cairo has been actively engaging counterparts to enhance coordination and align positions on issues of mutual interest amid ongoing geopolitical challenges. Minister Konaković talked about Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path, underlining that EU integration remains a strategic priority and discussed further cooperation in trade, investment, tourism and connectivity, as well as future opportunities in the energy transition, digital economy and defence industry.

Both sides highlighted the value of dialogue, mutual understanding, and balanced cooperation as key foundations for stable relations. The discussions reaffirmed a shared commitment to supporting regional stability and advancing practical cooperation in line with common interests.
