Croatia is preparing a significant investment in an artificial intelligence data centre in Topusko, in a move aimed at boosting its digital economy and technological capacity. The project is expected to attract international partners and strengthen the country’s role in the growing AI and data sector.
Officials highlight that the planned data centre could bring new jobs, support innovation and improve infrastructure, particularly in less developed areas.
The investment also aligns with broader European trends focused on digital transformation and strategic technological autonomy.
Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with operations targeted for early 2029. The Topusko facility could become a key regional hub for AI development and data processing, reinforcing Croatia’s ambition to position itself as a competitive destination for high-tech investment.
