Slovenia’s Business Confidence Sees Rise

Despite a dip in consumer confidence, Slovenia’s business sentiment strengthens slightly, driven by gains in manufacturing, services, and construction

Business confidence in Slovenia rose by 0.3 percentage points in February, reaching -2.2, according to the latest data from the Statistical Office.

While the increase was modest, it represents a 0.7-point improvement compared to February 2024, maintaining the long-term average.

The growth in confidence was largely fueled by the manufacturing sector, which contributed a 0.5-point boost, alongside services (0.2 points) and the construction industry (0.1 points). However, consumer confidence took a downturn, reducing the overall sentiment by 0.6 points.

On a year-on-year comparison, the manufacturing sector saw the most significant positive shift, adding 1.1 points to the overall business outlook, with retail also improving sentiment by 0.5 points.

Conversely, the decline in consumer confidence and services sentiment weighed heavily, subtracting 0.5 and 0.4 points, respectively.

Though growth in business confidence remains steady, the mixed signals across various sectors suggest caution as Slovenia navigates its economic future.
