In a significant boost to Rijeka’s shipbuilding industry, Australian businessman Glen Moroney, owner of Scenic Group, has unveiled plans for an even larger, more luxurious cruise ship to join his fleet.
The new vessel, expected to exceed 200 metres in length, will surpass the existing Scenic Eclipse vessels, cementing Scenic’s dominance in ultra-luxury expedition cruising.
The project, valued at €250 million, is set to commence with a steel cutting ceremony in Rijeka later this week.
With a growing fleet of 27 ships, including both river and ocean liners, Scenic has been forging long-term partnerships with Croatian shipyards, most notably “3. maj 1905.”
Moroney aims to continue expanding Scenic’s presence in Rijeka, promising further developments and investments in the region’s maritime industry.
