The service is yet to be officially announced by easyJet, but the route was spotted by regional aviation portal Ex-Yu Aviation and tickets are already available for purchase on the airline’s website. Flights are scheduled for Wednesdays and Sundays and are expected to be operated by an Airbus A320.
easyJet previously operated the Ljubljana–Berlin route three times a week between 2018 and 2020. The service was discontinued during the Covid-19 pandemic and was not subsequently restored. Its return will provide another direct connection between the Slovenian and German capitals, while also expanding travel options for passengers from the wider Ljubljana region.
The new Berlin service is part of a broader expansion of easyJet’s operations in Ljubljana.
The airline has traditionally connected the Slovenian capital with London Gatwick, while a new three-times-weekly service to London Luton is scheduled to begin on October 26. easyJet launched flights to Manchester in November last year and added Edinburgh to its Ljubljana network in April this year.
The expansion also strengthens easyJet’s longer-term presence in Slovenia. The airline is currently in the process of acquiring Ljubljana-based aircraft maintenance company Adria Tehnika from Czech investment fund Hartenberg Holding, following an agreement reached at the end of last year.
With Berlin becoming its fourth destination from Ljubljana, easyJet is gradually increasing the number of major European cities directly accessible from the Slovenian capital, strengthening Ljubljana’s position within the carrier’s regional network.
