In 2024, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) invested €151 million into 13 key projects in North Macedonia, driving the country’s economic and environmental transformation.

Of this, €70 million was earmarked for green initiatives, championing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and decarbonisation.

Highlighting the bank’s impact, Fatih Turkmenoglu, EBRD’s Country Head, celebrated the strides made in strengthening infrastructure and fostering business opportunities that keep young talent within the country.

Notable projects include a €98.6 million loan to NOMAGAS for a gas interconnection pipeline with Greece and a €24.6 million loan to MEPSO for energy grid upgrades.
