Joker Out Turns Stormy Anniversary Into Unforgettable Celebration

The Slovenian band’s 10th anniversary concert overcame severe weather to become one of the country’s biggest music events of the year.

Slovenian pop-rock band Joker Out celebrated its 10th anniversary with a carnival-style open-air spectacle in Ljubljana that attracted around 17,000 people, including some 1,500 fans from nearly 50 countries. More than a year in the making, the project combined a concert, festival and contemporary circus performances, transforming a park near a student campus into one of Slovenia’s largest live music venues for a day.

The event faced a major setback when a severe thunderstorm hit shortly before the concert. Organizers temporarily suspended activities and cancelled part of the programme while conducting safety inspections of the stage and electrical systems. Once conditions improved, the show was cleared to go ahead, much to the relief of thousands of waiting fans.

Finnish Eurovision star Käärijä warmed up the crowd before Joker Out took the stage for an almost three-hour performance featuring more than 30 songs. The band was joined by several special guests, including Serbian rapper Devito, while lighting effects, pyrotechnics, confetti and aerial acrobatics helped create a unique carnival atmosphere.

The evening ended with an emotional encore of Umazane misli after fans called the band back to the stage. Reflecting on the event, Joker Out said that what began with fears the storm would ruin everything ultimately became one of their most memorable experiences, as fans danced through puddles and turned adversity into celebration.
