Kotor’s Cruise Season Sets Sail

The UNESCO-listed Bay of Kotor continues to draw unprecedented numbers of cruise tourists, with over 500 ships expected this year

Kotor, a jewel of the Adriatic, is preparing to kick off its 2025 cruise season with the arrival of the MSC Opera on April 10, marking the beginning of a year set to see 500 cruise ships docking in its historic port.

This surge in maritime tourism promises an influx of around 700,000 visitors, offering a significant boost to both the town and Montenegro’s wider tourism industry.

April marks the official start of the main cruise season, when larger vessels begin arriving in greater numbers.

Notably, MSC Opera will also introduce a new high-speed boat line connecting Kotor with Dubrovnik, with 35 scheduled sailings throughout the season.

Ranked as the third most popular cruise destination in the Adriatic, Kotor continues to captivate visitors with its UNESCO-listed bay, rich history, and stunning landscapes.

Alongside its natural beauty, the town is undergoing infrastructure improvements, including enhanced safety measures and streamlined tourist flows, ensuring Kotor’s place as a leading Mediterranean destination for years to come.
