Slovenia Seeks to Charm American Travelers

Slovenia’s tourism campaign in the U.S. targets key cities and leverages its growing appeal, aiming to boost visits and strengthen its global presence

Slovenia is intensifying efforts to attract more American travelers, with over a dozen tour operators meeting 70 media and business partners across key U.S. cities.

Organized by the Slovenian Tourist Board (STO), this initiative aims to boost the country’s visibility in the competitive tourism market.

Last year, American visitors generated over 400,000 overnight stays in Slovenia, an impressive 18% increase from the previous year.

The focus of the campaign is not only on high-profile partnerships but also on a global digital marketing push.

Collaborations with prestigious media outlets like National Geographic and Conde Nast Traveler are amplifying Slovenia’s appeal.

Additionally, STO is planning joint promotional efforts with neighboring countries Croatia and Austria to create a broader, regionally connected experience for travelers.

American tourists are particularly valuable due to their high spending power, averaging €158 per day.

This campaign marks a critical step in positioning Slovenia as a must-visit destination in Europe, combining strategic outreach with the allure of its natural beauty and cultural heritage.
