Zagreb to Overhaul Kranjčevićeva Stadium with €44M Investment

Zagreb’s Kranjčevićeva Stadium will undergo a €44 million upgrade to serve as Dinamo Zagreb’s temporary venue by 2026, doubling its capacity and meeting UEFA Category 4 standards

Zagreb’s Kranjčevićeva Stadium is set for a €44 million overhaul to serve as Dinamo Zagreb’s interim venue in 2026. 

Work is slated to begin in early 2025 and be completed by September 2026, with the seating capacity expanding from 5,350 to 11,163, meeting UEFA Category 4 specifications 

Planned upgrades include fully covered seating, a hybrid heated pitch, modern LED lighting, and enhanced amenities for players, coaching staff, and media. 

The project, entirely funded by the City of Zagreb with €35 million allocated for construction, enables the demolition and redevelopment of Maksimir Stadium, with a new, cutting-edge facility expected to open by 2028, reinforcing Zagreb’s status as a footballing hub.
